Lip augmentation is a procedure that uses synthetic or biological products or surgical restructuring to enhance the lips in many ways. Augmentation can be achieved by many procedures, some better than others. For people with very thin lips, the goal may be to have a more normal appearance. For others, very thick and sexy lips are the goal, while some desire a defined edge to the lip or a return to their less aged lip.

Lips may be surgically enhanced by autologous (your own) fat transfer of fat cells when undergoing liposuction on other parts of the body. Temporary non-surgical enhancement is often achieved by injecting a soft tissue filler such as Restylane.
