These select few private hospitals are recognized outside of Thailand as providing the highest standard of medical care. They offer an a la carte menu of just about any medical service one might need, and cater to a growing clientele of expatriate and foreign visitors. Historically, most medical travelers have been from other parts of Asia and the Middle East but increasing numbers of Europeans, Australians, and North Americans are now turning to Thailand’s private medical system for affordable and excellent medical treatment.

All the hospitals we use have international certification. They are accredited or in the accreditation process with the Joint Commission International (J.C.I.) a branch of the national hospital certification body in the United States.

J.C.I. and other international accreditation and certification is voluntary. For hospitals that already offer top-quality care, these international certifications are viewed as an added element that may be valuable in presenting their services world-wide. A medical traveler should understand that this accreditation is only one of several indicators in judging hospital performance, standards, and outcomes.

Private hospitals in Thailand are regulated by the government according to standards that meet or exceed those of hospitals in Canada. Only four countries in the world – the United States, Canada, Australia, and Thailand – require private hospitals to meet rigorous medical and healthcare standards and be duly accredited as achieving those standards.
