Most women who travel to Bangkok for breast surgery want a breast augmentation. This may be to increase the size of their breasts or to provide shape when most of the mass of the breasts has been lost.

Some women in their 40s who have breast fed their children are surprised to be told that only implants won’t provide their former pre-babies rounded and shapely breasts. They discover that they actually need a breast lift as well as an augmentation to give them the silhouette they want. This is also the case with women who have experienced significant loss of weight.

Women whose breasts are irregularly shaped or unevenly sized can benefit from implants alone or restored with a combination of implants, nipple repositioning and/or a breast lift. Women whose breasts have been depleted can undergo a breast restoration.

The cost of breast reduction surgery is often reimbursed by medical insurers if it is demonstrated that the breast size poses health concerns.

Some women write to us asking about liposuction for large breasts. We don’t schedule nor encourage this procedure. Breasts are made largely of breast tissue, with larger breasts having a greater proportion of fat. A liposuction procedure that will leave breast tissue undamaged while removing fat cells has yet to be found medically viable.

Also, some women write to us because they want their fat transferred into their breasts. We don’t schedule or support this procedure either. Surgeons we know make the case that the calcified residual of the transferred fat cells, as they die out, can mask cancer cells during a routine mammogram or ultrasound. We think that's an excellent reason not to consider fat transfer into breast tissue.
